Tom Strähnz, Managing Director at Armor Industrial Inks Lab shares some interesting insights on the new brand and their company.In 2016, the ARMOR Group, the French global player in the inkjet printing and marking industry, decided to consequently follow its strategy of growth and sustainability of its ARMOR Print Solution-division by founding a new business activity: the ARMOR Industrial Inks Lab.

1. The ARMOR Industrial Inks Lab
The ARMOR Industrial Inks Lab is an evolution of ARMOR’s business unit for development and production of inks and consumables for desktop inkjet printers. It is based in Dortmund, Germany and is linked to the ARMOR ink production plant in Prudnik, Poland.
In its first stage, the activities of the ARMOR Industrial Inks Lab were tailored towards the needs of industrial inkjet printing needs. The core of this business segment is the design and production of customized waterbased inkjet inks for any industrial inkjet printing application.
2. ARMOR Desktop bulk-inks for Manufacturers / Refillers
In its second stage of evolution, the Industrial Inks Lab bridged the gap between the to-date desktop inks-business and the industrial inkjet printing industry: the industrial inks expert from now also proposes bulk inks for co-manufacturers, remanufacturers and refillers of all inkjet office cartridges from desktop, professional and large format ink cartridges. This bulk ink range offers to the World Wide market 50 bulk ink references, available for the full range of desktop cartridges from the top printer manufacturers (Epson, HP, Brother and Canon).
3. ARMOR Thermal Inkjet Inks (ARTij)
The ARMOR Industrial Inks Lab contributes its heritage of 100 years of experience in ink development to the needs of any of applications while individually focussing on each of it.
Each of these inks focuses on different properties which allows customers to choose the appropriate ink exactly matching their requirements
4. ARMOR Label Printing Inks (ARTag)
ARTag is a set of waterbased pigment inks, designed for the on-demand printing of colored labels, using Epson* inkjet label printers. ARTag inks provide excellent image quality on a variety of label media. High performance pigments ensure the durability of the printouts and provide a high water, smudge and light (UV) resistance.
5. ARMOR Waterbased Sublimation Inks (ARSub)
The range includes sublimation inks for industrial sublimation printing (ARSub 501 & ARSub 502), designed for high-volume production with Epson*-printheads (ARSub 501) and Kyocera*-printheads (ARSub502). All ARMOR sublimation inks (ARSub) are 100% eco-friendly and certified by Oekotex, as they are solely waterbased. All of these inks come under scrutiny of strict tests of runnability, cleaning behaviour, transfer performance in combination with different papers and substrates and fastness tests before they are released.
