Baiksan to exit the OPC market?

The Recycler understands that Baiksan senior management is expected to announce Baiksan’s exit from the OPC and components business in the next few days.

According to a person with knowledge of the proposal, plans to close their branch offices in Rüsselsheim, Germany and Los Angeles, USA are well advanced, and some customers have been advised that a final decision could be issued as early as Monday, 29th of October 2018.

The Recycler contacted Baiksan but had not received a response at the time we published this story.

In 2014, South Korean courts found Baiksan were in breach of Canon patents and awarded Canon $14 million (€12.3 million) in damages.
