The latest addition to the Paper Saver product line is a new formulation that replaces Epson’s 502 ink.
Blue Planet Ink has led the market in disappearing ink for printers since 2019. The latest addition to the Paper Saver product line is a new formulation that replaces Epson’s 502 ink in several models of Epson EcoTank printers. Paper Saver self-erasing inkjet ink disappears so that the same paper can be used for printing again and again.
Blue Planet Ink said: “For those who still want to print but care about the environment, reusing paper makes sense. The carbon footprint of producing, transporting, and disposing 12 sheets of paper is equivalent to driving one mile in a gasoline-powered car — despite generous assumptions of 30% recycled content in the paper and an ideal 100% recycling rate. Printers that use 502 ink are common so the new Paper Saver 502 ink gives customers who reuse paper many more options in selecting a printer than they had before.”
Paper Saver ink is a purple coloured ink that prints on normal paper. With exposure to air the ink absorbs carbon dioxide and water vapor and undergoes a chemical reaction which lowers its pH. As the pH drops the dye in the ink becomes colourless and the paper becomes blank again, like new.
