The OEM has revealed that, at its Board Meeting held on 17 May 2018, changes in its representative directors and auditors were decided.

These changes are subject to the final approval of the Board of Directors and Board of Auditors meetings held after the Annual General Shareholders meeting in June.

Among the changes, Brother announced that Toshikazu Koike, currently Representative Director and President, will be named Representative Director and Chairman, and Ichiro Sasaki will take on the role of Representative Director and President. Sasaki is currently Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer.

Brother explained that the reason for this change was to “construct a new management system with the start of formulating a new mid-term strategy in the current fiscal year.”

Koike has been with Brother Industries since April 1979, while Sasaki has been with the OEM since April 1983.

In other changes, Tasuku Kawanabe, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, is being retitled Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer to “ensure further development” of the company, “with a new management structure.”

Kawanabe also joined brother in April 1979.

Additionally, Brother revealed two new auditors. Kazuyuki Ogawa, General Manager, Corporate Auditors’ Office is being named Standing Corporate Auditor, while Akira Yamada, Lawyer, is being named Corporate Auditor.

Two auditors have been scheduled for retirement: Munetaka Fujii and Takao Umino.
