Brother sees revenue increases

The company has released its first quarter FY2022 financial results, recording a “substantial increase” in revenue in its Printing & Solutions (P&S) business segment.

Brother said that revenue increased, due mainly to a firm performance of the P&S business, in addition to positive foreign exchange effects. Sales revenue for the first quarter was ¥1,997 billion ($15 billion/ €14.66 billion), a year-on-year 14.8% increase.

In its Printing & Solutions business segment Brother recorded sales of ¥1,218 billion ($9.15 billion/ €8.94 billion) for the quarter, a 23% increase year-on-year. Brother saw a 14% growth rate in laser unit sales and an 8% increase in inkjet units.

The company forecasts full year sales revenue for the Printing & Solutions business segment to be ¥4,553 billion ($34.2 billion/ €33.4 billion). Overall Brother forecasts sales revenue for the full year 2022 to be ¥7,750 billion ($58 billion/ €57 billion), a year-on-year increase of 9%.
