Brother Industries, Ltd., the parent company of Brother International Corporation has won a Japanese design award “Good Design Award 2023” for six of its latest products.

Brother has received a total of 230 Good Design Awards, including for six products this year, since it first won the award for its home sewing machine in 1960. This marks the 31st year in a row, since 1993, that Brother has received this award.

“The Good Design Award does not just recognize products with exceptional appearance and function. Selection of products and services is also based on whether they provide value to consumers and society,” said Don Cummins, President, Brother International Corporation.

“The award recognises the collective efforts of everyone involved with the particular product or service.”

Printing devices that received the award were Brother’s inkjet printer MFC-J6959DW/7700CDW and Brother’s laser printer models HL-L3240CDW/MFC-L3780CDW and HL-L6310DW/MFC-L5715DW.

Good Design Awards have been a sole comprehensive design evaluation and communication system in Japan since 1957. Many companies and designers from both inside and outside of Japan participate in the activity to enhance the industry or the quality of life through design. “G Mark”, the symbol of the award has been widely recognised as a mark representing Good Design.
