Canon announces third quarter tally

Canon said its activities led to the removal of 1,171 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands, as well as 92 listings were removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.

Canon Inc. announced that in the third quarter of 2022, it has used the Amazon Reporting Tool, letters of inquiry and/or information letters to successfully remove 1,171 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands.

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France and The Netherlands is 29,061.

The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent No. 2 137 577, European Patent No. 1 977 289, European Patent No. 3 470 931 and European Patent No. 3 270 230.Canon also announced that in the third quarter of 2022, it has used Amazon takedown procedures to report infringement based on 92 listings, all of which have now been removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America.

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America is 3,402.

The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors that Canon believes infringed one or more of U.S. Patent No. 8,280,278, U.S. Patent No. 8,630,564, U.S. Patent No. 8,682,215, U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008, U.S. Patent No. 8,676,090, U.S. Patent No. 8,588,646, U.S. Patent No. 9,581,958, U.S. Patent No.11,169,483, Canadian Patent No. 2,635,791, Canadian Patent No. 2,910,527, Mexican Patent No. 308881 and Mexican Patent No. 317598.

Canon said that it respects the intellectual property rights of others and will continue to enforce its own intellectual property rights.
