Canon concludes German patent dispute

The OEM has announced the conclusion of a legal dispute over patent infringement with JT Company UG (haftungsbeschränkt).

Last year, The Recycler reported that Canon had been granted a preliminary injunction based on the infringement of the German portion of Canon’s European patent EP 2 087 407, relating to a drum unit and process cartridge.

Now it has been revealed that both Canon Inc. and JT Company UG (haftungsbeschränkt), as well as its managing director, have agreed to resolve their pending patent dispute by signing a settlement agreement.

JT Company UG (haftungsbeschränkt) inter alia accepted a preliminary injunction (docket no. 4a O 111/17) of the District Court Düsseldorf based on the infringement of the German portion of Canon’s European Patent EP 2 087 407 B1 as final and binding between the parties. Further details of the settlement agreement are confidential.
