The two companies are collaborating on a joint venture for processing waste toner powder, toner bottles, and plastic related contaminants.

Netherlands-based CarboTech Re-Energy Applications (CarboTechRea) is specialised in auditing companies and providing bespoke, tailor-made solutions for companies to deal with their environmental waste in the most ecological and cost-effective way and supply it to the Re-Energy market to produce renewable energy.

Eurecum GmbH, based in Germany, is a high-tech processing company and is one of the leading Re-Energy providers in Germany. Eurecum invested heavily in 2018 to safely process over 100,000 tonnes per year of waste toner powder, toner bottles and all related types of contaminated plastics for the Toner-, Printing- and Plastic industry.

Commenting on the new partnership, the companies said: “We are very proud to announce that as of this year a joint venture has been established between CarboTechRea and Eurecum GmbH Eisleben. The main focus of this joint venture is to remain the largest single organisation in Europe for processing waste toner powder, toner bottles, and plastic related contaminants in the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective way across Europe for the printing industry.”

OEM and remanufacturers alike face the environmental and sustainability issues that tonnes of waste toner powder need to be processed and recycled and at the same time a sustainable solution is needed for the millions of cartridges and plastics that are at the end of their useful life.

The cooperation between CarboTechRea and Eurecum creates the ability to dispose of this non-environmentally friendly waste and produces complete countability for the responsible authorities regionally.
