In a blog post, Cartridge Web has given an insight in processes of its mould production and quality control.

Cartridge Web (CW) is a manufacturer of compatible toner cartridges. The company prides itself with its core enterprise philosophy, “quality-service-value, help us win the trust of our customers throughout the past 4 decades.”

Cartridge Web explained in its blog that it is an ISO 14001 and 9001 certified factory in Taiwan. As part of the process, the company has a series of strict quality control for the incoming raw materials, or the quality standard during the production process and the final inspection before shipping out the finished product. During development, the engineers will conduct multiple tests to make sure the compatibility of its products with OEM machines.

The company further explains that one of the keys to timely ensure the cartridges deliver its best performance is that the company have a moulding department, and all moulds are CW owned.

The blog explains that Cartridge Web’s engineers complete the analysis of OEM patents, the study of printer or MFP mechanisms, and then create a cartridge design around patents. The company writes: “They will initiate a meeting to discuss with our moulding department, including details of computer graphics, cavities, plastic injection and ejection, and lead time. Our moulding department will then draft the mould through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and start the mould-making.

“The making will go through material choosing, rough machining, milling, drilling, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), surface treatment, and so on. Once completed, the mould will then acquire several trials, ISIR, and dimension inspection to confirm the plastic quality before mass production.”
