Cartridge World discusses audit benefits

The company has published a new blog, examining the potential benefits of a print audit.

The blog highlights that many businesses don’t recognise the expenditure associated with printing, and says that “copiers and printers are the lifeblood of your day-to-day operations.”

“If you’re not optimising this part of your company,” Cartridge World warns, “it could be costing you hours of lost time and hundreds – or even thousands – of pounds.”

It’s with this in mind that the blog suggests investment in print audits, describing them as “the quickest and simplest way to get to the root of your inefficient printing habits.”

The blog then presents the three biggest benefits to the evaluations, the first being that it allows you to analyse and understand your print environment. It Argues that it many businesses, responsibility for printing is split between several different people, such as office administrators and IT professionals; this creates “the perfect storm for disconnects to occur” as everyone assumes someone else is taking care of tracking volumes or monitoring usage, when nobody really is, and hence nobody really has a thorough understanding of the print environment.

Print audits have the potential to change this, by scanning your network output devices, thus telling you your supply levels, meter readings, and page counts, alongside other information.

Print audits will also allow your company to save money – once you understand the expenditure, you can reduce it, by printing more efficiently, reducing paper usage, or consolidating your fleet. As well as a financial benefit, audits can also provide an environmental one, as it can allow you to manage and lower your energy consumption and how much waste you and producing. As the blog states, “all these positive side effects work together to foster a more pleasant office space, while adding to your bottom line.”

Furthermore, print audits can also “help you figure out how information flows through your organisation,” allowing you to optimise your workflows, identify inefficiencies, and consider alternatives options that could further reduce downtime and frustration – and ultimately, save your company money.
