Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’s massive milestone

The collection programme is celebrating passing the forty million mark.

The programme was set up back in 2003, and as well as marking its fifteenth anniversary in 2018, it is also celebrating the milestone of forty million cartridges collected.

Cartridges 4 Planet Ark called the event “a significant milestone,” and said it was “a collaborative achievement between the participating manufacturers Canon, HP, Brother, Epson, Kyocera, and Knoica Minolta, our programme manager, Close The Loop, and our collection retail partners including Officeworks, Australia Post, JB Hifi, The Good Guys, and Harvey Norman.”

The “collaborative partnership” means the programme’s cartridge collection boxes are placed in workplaces and public areas across Australia, with the collection and recycling of the empty cartridges paid for by the manufacturers.

“We’d like to say thank you to all our partners and the countless Australians who recycle their cartridges giving them new lives in road surfaces, pens and recycled artists ink,” the company added. “We look forward to continuing this success in 2019!”
