The Chinese government has expressed its strong opposition to the United States’ recent decision to include Ninestar and some of their Zhuhai-based subsidiaries, on a list accusing them of alleged human rights abuses.

The move by the US has been criticized by China for lacking factual basis and transparency. The Chinese commerce ministry has stated that the country will take necessary measures to firmly protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.

Reuters is reporting that China firmly opposes U.S. inclusion of two more companies, including the Ninestar Corporation and some of their Zhuhai based subsidiaries, on a list of entities accused of alleged human rights abuses, the commerce ministry said.

“The action taken by the United States lacks factual basis and transparency,” the ministry said, adding “China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.”
