Company fined for selling infringing cartridges

The company accused of selling counterfeit HP ink and toner cartridges has entered a guilty plea which has ended in a fine of BND64,500 ($47,884/ €45,549).

On 24 December the Intermediate Court concluded the case going on since 2020. The company entered a guilty plea for selling infringing HP products with an assumed value of BND90,000 ($66,819/ €63,549).

The Borneo Bulletin reported that the company did supply government ministries, departments, and a medical centre with the counterfeit products.

The court based the fine on “a calculation of BND300 ($223/ €212) per infringing article”, the Borneo Bulletin said.
