The Xerox spin-off has announced that it will jettisoning 213 Houston jobs by the end of 2018.

As the Houston Business Journal reports, the New Jersey-based company will be laying off over 200 Houston employees on or around 31 December 2018.

The affected employees work at Conduent Commercial Solutions LLC on Hayes Road, as revealed by a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter which was dispatched to the Texas Workforce Commission.

The reason provided for these job losses was a “change in the business needs of a client”.

Sean Collins, Conduent’s Senior Director of Communications, said that among the affected roles were customer care agents and support staff. Those eligible would receive “separation packets” but there will be no transfers to other locations.

“We realize this affects individuals and every effort is being made to ensure that all employees are treated fairly,” Collins said via email.

Approximately 78 employees will maintain their jobs at the Hayes Road location.
