COVID-19: Toshiba closes offices and factories

Amidst the spreading pandemic in Japan, Toshiba announced it will close its offices and factories in Japan to prevent further spreading of the infection.

NHK reported that Toshiba will soon stop all activities in its factories and offices all over Japan, in a hopeful bid to limit the spread of the virus within Japan. These closures will affect 76,000 employees within the Toshiba Group and will reportedly be implemented on 20 April and most likely last till 6 May.

These measures follow on from initial already set up home office working to now include the factory workers and is Toshiba’s latest effort to protect its employees.
