The President of ETIRA, the European Toner and Inkjet Remanufacturers Association, will deliver a pair of seminars at the trade show, which takes place in Dubai at the end of this month.
Paperworld Middle East 2019 takes place from 18-20 March at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Dubai, and will see exhibitors from across the aftermarket industry and from around the world come to the United Arab Emirates to trade, network, and connect with customers and clients old and new.
As well as this, a lively seminar programme will provide a series of eye-opening, informative, and thought-provoking talks and discussions, including from ETIRA President David Connett. Fresh from his appearance at Paperworld and Remanexpo, which took place at Germany’s Messe Frankfurt, Connett will deliver two seminars in Dubai, on some of the most pressing issues of the day.
The first seminar will address the future of reuse, single-use, and the circular economy, asking if we’re seeing “the beginning of the end of single-use in the office imaging space,” with a particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa region.
Following this, Connett will also give a talk on the recent DecaBDE scandal, the effect that the discovery of the prohibited flame retardant has had on the aftermarket, and the further potential impacts to come.
“The Middle East and African markets are growing markets for office consumables and technology, especially in the education and healthcare sectors,” explained Connett. “Shipments of new and especially used technology have been increasing in recent years and on the back of that technology growth the demand for consumables has increased across the spectrum for OEM, reused and new build products.”
The ETIRA President continued: “After a decline in reuse about 10 years ago there has been a resurgence in the last few years and we see that some of the key regional players are expanding, especially into the African markets, where there is little or no distinction between reusing an OEM or new build cartridge. Being aware of the DecaBDE issue and how ETIRA is responding to it is important for everyone involved in the office imaging sector.”
Among the aftermarket businesses confirmed to attend the trade show are UK-based debutants Dynamic Cassette International (DCI), Australian company Calidad, which has attended every edition of the show since its inception, and Dubai’s very own Daisytek Computers LLC, described as “one of the leading trader & exporter of printer consumables & computer accessories in the Middle East.”
Thousands of visitors are expected to descend on the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, from across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as further afield, for three days of trade, business and networking opportunities.
As well as the latest in office supplies, printing materials, stationery, paper and gifts, the 2019 show will also feature Playworld Village, the region’s leading platform for children’s toys and games, and Leatherworld Middle East.
