Day 4: …and Remanexpo 2020 closes

The last day of the show sees more conversation and industry insights.

As visitors and exhibitors head home to begin the arduous task of following up on all the leads and contacts made during the show, we take a quick look at day 4, which is usually the most brutal of days. As an exhibitor you will have been on your feet for 3 whole days talking and engaging with hundreds of people. You feel physically and mentally tired and so do some of the attendees who are rushing around to finish off their meetings before heading home.

The last day Remanexpo at Paperworld 2020 and it is the busiest day of the show for Stefanie Unland, The Recycler’s Editor and Publisher. “Over the last four days visitors and exhibitors alike have shared their thoughts and ideas on the challenges and opportunities that are in the industry at the moment and we will take on board in our editorial plans. At the same time we also received some good suggestions, ideas and constructive feedback about the show. It is great to get the feedback which is really appreciated.”

Writing on LinkedIn Jan-Michael Sieg, CEO of German remanufacturer KMP AG said: “On the way home before I travel to Berlin. Good Paperworld Show and till today still healthy.”

Ken Lalley, CEO at Static Control Components commented: “We’re pleased to have another successful Paperworld finished! We look forward to attending this event every year because we know how important it is for both customers and the industry. We had plenty of insightful conversations with both clients and industry veterans. We enjoyed many of the seminars at The Recycler Live event, especially our own Elizabeth McKee, who provided an insightful wrap-up of current legal actions, along with the Firmware Forum earlier in the day. We can’t wait for next year!”

With a gentler pace in the hall you might take time to relax, but actually day four was a time for several deep conversations about where the industry is and the trends that are emerging. Andrew Carroll, of Keypoint Intelligence, Peter Mayhew of Lightwords and Michael Swiatek of IDC took time out to chat over industry trends and changes in an interesting exchange on the exhibition floor.

The final presentation for the diehards was Brexit: If it happens: Stefanie Unland and David Connett shared the latest Brexit news. Unless the UK political landscape changes rapidly, Brexit will happen in just a few days’ time. It will impact on UK businesses trading with the EU and vice versa.

The good news is that nothing changes on the 1st February because the EU and the UK will begin negotiating the new relationship or treaty, which if agreed will come into effect on the 1st January 2020. So don’t panic if you missed the presentation because the Recycler will keep you up to date throughout the year about the Brexit issues and all the other information you want to see reported over the coming months.

With our bags packed and the doors closed we are heading back home today and resume normal service tomorrow.  We would like to thank all the visitors, exhibitors and our speakers for their participation at the show and hope everyone

See you all in Prague for The Recycler Live summer conference, 14-15 May.
