Canon Middle East announced that it has been awarded the Dubai Chamber of Commerce Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label for the sixth consecutive year.
According to the OEM, the CSR Label is in recognition of Canon’s long-term commitment to initiatives that deliver social and environmental benefits to the community.
The CSR label award was first introduced in 2010 by Dubai Chamber and has since then grown in significance to become the highest level of recognition for the CSR efforts of businesses in the Middle East. It is also the first CSR Label in the region that builds on international standards while ensuring local relevance.
Mai Youssef, Corporate Communications and Marketing Services Director, Canon Middle East and Canon Central and North Africa, said: “Our commitment to CSR resonates with Canon’s global corporate philosophy of ‘Kyosei,’ which means living and working together for the common good. By delivering social and environmental benefits through our people, initiatives and products, we are powerfully demonstrating our commitment to our philosophy.”

The CSR label gives significant meaning and context to the work Canon does on a local level to support and contribute in the communities in which we operate. The recognition also drives us to continue spreading our philosophy to our employees, partners and customers in the region to promote the immense value and positive influence of corporate social responsibility in today’s world,” added Mai.
Most recently, Canon raised AED 250,000 ($68,073/€58,693) to support two educational programmes, one in the Middle East and a second in Africa in partnership with Dubai Cares. The funds were raised through sponsors and the general public who participated in the Canon Day of Giving fundraising event last month at Zabeel Park.
Canon says it continues to monitor and assess its environmental impact to identify ways to improve its sustainability performance across all areas of the business.
