Seiko Epson Corporation has announced that its Board of Directors have approved the appointment of a new Representative Director.

The company’s Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, Shigeki Inoue, is retiring “for personal reasons”, according to the OEM, and will be replaced by Koichi Kubota, who will serve as Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, as well as Chief Operating Officer of Printing Solutions Operations.

This change will be effective from 1 October 2018.

The company offered some background information on Koichi Kubota, born 1959, who has been working for Epson since 1983 and was appointed to his current position in 2012.

Since then he has risen steadily through the ranks, and currently holds 27,200 shares in Epson.
