Epson Europe has appointed Boris Manev as its new Director Corporate Sustainability.

This move comes as the company accelerates its sustainability and decarbonisation programmes. With this initiative, it will become carbon negative and no longer use underground resources, in line with its medium-term strategy and its ecological vision and commitment for the year 2050.

Boris Manev joined Epson in 2011 as an environmental expert and was appointed Head of Sustainability and Government Affairs for Epson EMEAR in 2018. Before working for Epson, Boris Manev worked for a Norwegian environmental NGO that promotes sustainable technologies in the EU. He also founded an ecological youth movement and NGO in his home country of North Macedonia with the aim of raising young people’s awareness of the issue of sustainability.

Commenting on his appointment, Boris Manev said: “Epson has a long history of producing energy-efficient, compact, precise products and is now recognized as a leader in sustainable technologies. I look forward to further advancing our sustainability transformation in all operational areas. This includes implementing our environmental vision for 2050 towards decarbonisation and communicating the sustainability promise of our products and services.

“The highly skilled CSR team at Epson is committed and passionate, and I look forward to combining our skills and working together to deliver technology that improves the quality of life in communities and regions across Europe. In particular, I look forward to showing that profit and sustainability can be intertwined and that the short-term calculation can be adjusted by incorporating sustainability into corporate models and programs in such a way that it supports long-term sustainability goals.”

Boris Manev holds a BA degree in international economics and international communication from the American University of Paris and an MSC degree in environmental and resource management from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
