Two major shipping companies, A.P. Moeller – MAERSK A/S d/b/a MAERSK LINE and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A., are facing lawsuits from Tokio Marine America Insurance Company over claims of damaged and undelivered goods belonging to Epson, including MFPs and projectors.

Tokio Marine America Insurance Company alleges that the cargo was in good order when it was received but was later delivered with a BNSF seal and obvious signs of pilferage, shortage, and damage. The cargo was intended to be shipped from Batangas, Philippines’ to the Port of Los Angeles, California, and then by rail to Plainfield, Indiana.

The insurers claim that the losses amount to $36,994.54 (€34,886.33) for the goods shipped by MAERSK and $334,140.13 (€315,161.77) for those shipped by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A.

The lawsuits seek to hold the shipping companies accountable for the damages and losses suffered by Epson.
