ETIRA has reached the one million labels on remanufactured cartridges milestone and has now launched two videos to expand the promotion of the mark and its benefits to members of ETIRA.
The certification mark was launched at the end of 2021 to raise the profile of remanufactured products produced by the European Toner & Inkjet Remanufacturers Association (ETIRA) members and eliminate confusion about which cartridges offer a very good environmental performance from those with poor environmental credentials.
Building on the success of the certification label programme ETIRA has now launched two videos to raise awareness of the wider issues around the need to remanufacture toner and ink cartridges to reduce the amount of harmful plastic waste being produced.
The first video is aimed at consumers and how they can make an informed choice when buying printer consumables. The second video is aimed at organisations that use tenders to purchase printer consumables and can include the certification in tenders, ETIRA is looking to promote the benefits of using the distinction on a remanufacturer’s product. The new label is exclusive to ETIRA members through a qualification process and license agreement.
This means the remanufacturer will be able to apply the certification mark not only to their own brand of cartridges, but any brand of cartridges they have produced for a third party that complies with the license requirements.
To receive the certification, each member must commit to follow the agreed process for the selection and remanufacturing of the cartridge and the correct recycling of all waste biproducts.
ETIRA will be exhibiting at Ambiente in Frankfurt later this week, along with a number of sponsors, at the ETIRA Pavilion – CMF2 C02.
