Fujifilm releases earnings

The company has released its consolidated results for the period April 2019 – March 2020, missing its predicted earnings for that quarter due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fujifilm recorded revenues of ¥2,315.1 billion ($21.53 billion/ €19.76 billion) a year-on-year decrease of 4.8% by ¥116.4 billion ($1.08 billion/ €993.41 million), compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. Fujifilm said that ¥47 billion ($437.18 million/ €401.1 million) of the decrease can be attributed to the impact of COVID-19.

In the Document Solutions segment, revenues for the period were ¥958.3 billion ($8.91 billion/ €8.18 billion), a 4.7% decrease compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. For the Imaging Solutions segment revenues were ¥332.6 billion ($3.09 billion/ €2.84 billion), a year-on-year decrease of 14%.

As initiatives in fiscal year 2021, Fujifilm said that it wants to expand its solutions and services that support diverse work styles, evolve and develop the document solutions business and for the imaging solutions offer various ways of enjoying photos by instax, print from smart phones and digital cameras.
