Dr Sassan Khatib-Shahidi, CEO of German Imaging Technologies Dubai, will be taking part in a panel discussion on the Circular Economy on 29 August 2018.

Dr Khatib-Shahidi is both the CEO and co-founder of GIT, which first began remanufacturing toner cartridges in the UAE in 1999. The company has openly expressed its commitment to sustainable practices, and in 2017 alone, managed to divert 150,000kg of waste from landfill in the UAE.

Each cartridge remanufactured by GIT, on average, helps to save 1.5kg of hazardous waste and mitigates 6kg of CO2 emissions.

GIT is a founding member of the European Council for Remanufacturing and advocates circular economy methods.

The Circular Economy panel discussion is being organised by the Emirates Environmental Group and will be held on 29 August 2018.

Attendees can RSVP by contacting eeg@emirates.net.ae or research@eeg.ae.
