HP being more open about blocking cartridges?

by | Feb 21, 2023 | 0 comments

Recently The Recycler learned that a new message on HP devices now tells users that the device is only intended to work with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip.

Users are experiencing a new kind of error message as a non-HP chip is detected. The message now explains exactly that the HP firmware detected a non-HP chip and that the device is only intended to work with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip.

When the firmware detects a non-HP chip on the cartridge it will prevent the printer from working until the cartridge has been replaced with one that has a new or reused HP chip.

Have you come across this message or have you found a solution for third-party supplies? If so, please let us know through emailing news@therecycler.com.
