HP releases new firmware update to fix vulnerabilities

Yesterday The Recycler reported on newly discovered vulnerabilities in about 150 HP MFPs which could be exploited remotely through malware websites.

HP has released a new firmware update for some of its HP Color Laser MFPs that use its FutureSmart Firmware platform. In the report published by two researchers from F Secure Labs, about 150 different devices were identified to have the vulnerabilities.

HP recommends to update the printer’s firmware by going to its Software and Driver Downloads pages and calls it a “critical” update.
