HP’s Anti-Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) Programme in India has managed to seize Rs 80 crore ($11.25 million/ €10.16 million) worth of counterfeit products.
The News Minute reports that HP announced that its ACF programme in India over the past year managed to seize fake products worth seize Rs 80 crore ($11.25 million/ €10.16 million). In Delhi-National Capital Region ACF made seizures worth Rs 33.5 crore ($4.71 million/ €4.25 million), topping the list of regions, with Bengaluru coming a close second with seizures worth Rs 22 crore ($3.09 million/ €2.79 million), followed by Mumbai with Rs 6.5 crore ($914,665/ €825,796) and Chennai with Rs 3.5 crore ($492,525/ €444,734).
The News Minute wrote that “law enforcement authorities conducted raids at over 170 premises resulting in 144 arrests across India. Among the products seized during the raids were finished and unfinished cartridges, packaging materials, and various sets of labels. These seized cartridges and labels were used to manufacture counterfeit HP print supplies.”
HP’s ACF Programme seeks to educate its customers and partners in the value of vigilance against counterfeit supplies, while cooperating globally with law enforcement agencies to bring an end to the illegal operations producing counterfeit components.
