Hubei Dinglong’s Wuhan factory

Toner production resumes at the Hubei Dinglong Wuhan factory following upgrades to the waste water treatment facility.

Last week Hubei Dinglong Co., Ltd announced that the completion of the upgrade to their Waste Water Treatment facility at their Wuhan Factory. Following the Central Governments inspection to Standard 1, production resumed and the factory in now operating at the pre-closure levels.

For European customers, Ian Copsey Hubei Dinglong European General Manager said “Our Netherlands warehouse that supplies our European customers holds robust inventory levels. Customers experienced no service disruption during the factory upgrade and, going forward; the robust inventory levels will be maintained.”

The factory upgrade has given rise to some questions regarding toner storage and performance and Hubei Dinglong’s Technical Director and Head of R&D, Dr Xiao commented: “All our toner is stored and transported in suitable environmental conditions. Both temperature and humidity are monitored in our Wuhan Factory and also at our Rotterdam 3PL Warehouse. It is worth mentioning the typical caking temperature of our toner is 55 – 60°C this is the same level as OEM material. Our safety storage temperature can’t exceed 35°C for any period. Time has an impact on the toners caking point at these temperatures, and this is why a much lower safety storage temperature applies to account for possibly long periods at raised temperatures.

Of course, toner resin types and additive selection are critical in their ability to withstand temperature fluctuations. The core of the toner is micro particle size while the exterior additives are nano particle size. Essentially the Core is approximately 100 times larger than individual additive size. The predominant resin core is also relatively soft compared to additives so that during the high-speed additive blending process, the smaller hard particles will impact and adhere to the larger softer Resin Core. The smaller additive particles are attracted physically and electrically to the much larger core material. Time, storage or indeed temperature will not have any impact of smaller additive particles becoming un-bonded from larger core.

Hubei Dinglong Co Ltd has produced chemical colour toner for over nine years and been providing toner, CCA & carrier materials for almost 20 Years. You do not manufacture more than 2400 tonnes per year without carefully taking care of the storage requirements of toner. A number of our customers are indeed OEM level with the highest storage requirements in our industry, and we adopt this level for all our customers.”
