Ingram Micro seeks new ownership

Ingram Micro could be spending 2019 in new hands, as its parent company, HNA Group, engages in preliminary talks focused on selling the technology distributor.

As COMPUTERWORLDHK reports, HNA Technology has “confirmed discussions were underway with an interested party”, none other than Apollo Global management LLC.

Ingram Micro’s price tag is purported to be $7.5 billion (€6.6 billion).

“Due to changes in market conditions and the company’s strategy, the company is in talks with a concerned party on selling Ingram Micro,” the company stated.

Ingram Micro was purchased by HNA back in 2016 for a sum of $6 billion (€5.2 billion). In September 2018, HNA Technology “claimed to hold $3.5 billion (€3 billion) of outstanding debt from the purchase of Ingram Micro, of which $350 million (€308.3 million) was due for payment this year.”
