The intelligence resource for business technology and imaging solutions resellers has bestowed its Lifetime Achievement Award on Tom Johnson, founder of Global Imaging Systems.

Johnson, who founded the Tampa, Florida-based company before it was acquired by Xerox eleven years ago, “is renowned in the office technology industry for creating a benchmark model for improving operations and evaluating potential acquisitions in the independent dealer channel,” the Cannata Report declared.

He will receive his honour at the Cannata Report’s  33rd Annual Awards & Charities Dinner, which will raise funds for Tackle Kids Cancer, a philanthropic programme benefitting the Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Centre. The awards, known as The Frank Awards, recognise business leaders from the manufacturing, financing, and software and services segments of the business technology and imaging industry.

The Cannata Report’s Frank Cannata paid tribute to Johnson, saying that “he changed our industry for the better by elevating how dealers measured their performance. The ‘Johnson Model’ has been proven time and time again.”

The annual dinner and fundraiser has so far raised $2.2 million (€1.8 million) for charitable organisations across the USA, and will be held this November at the Madison Hotel, in Morristown, New Jersey.
