Kyocera announces record sales revenue

The company has announced its latest financial results, with sales revenue that reached a new record high, mainly due to increased production of components for 5G and semiconductor-related markets.

For the year ended 31 March 2022, Kyocera recorded sales revenue of ¥1.839 trillion ($14.05 billion/ €13.35 billion), a year-on-year increase of 20.4%. For the solutions business segment that includes the company’s Document Solutions Unit, sales revenue for the recording period was ¥984 billion ($7.52 billion/ €7.14 billion), a year-on-year increase of 17.8%.

In regard to the Solutions Business Unit, Kyocera said that it saw the recovery of sales for equipment and supplies, as well as an increase in profit due to the absence of an impairment loss of approximately ¥11.5 billion ($87.83 million/ €83.5 million), which had been recorded in FY March 2021 in the smart energy business.

Kyocera predicts sales revenue for the next financial year to be ¥2 trillion ($15.3 billion/ €14.5 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.8%. Kyocera said it is looking to expand its solutions business by expanding sales of products such as industrial tools, and printers and MFPs for offices.
