The OEM’s UK division has agreed a deal with the Norfolk-based distributor to target the SME sector.

Xerox has announced a major deal with British printing and AV distributor Midwich, in order to provide its managed print services to more Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) customers across Europe, reports Computer Weekly. The OEM is targeting these customers particularly with its Expert Print Services (XPS) offering.

The agreement, the distributor’s first major signing, will also see Midwich handle the MPS products that Xerox has developed to support the managed print approach; these include Light Production, and Versant and ConnectKey devices.

The OEM has been developing products specifically for the SME market over the last twelve months, as it seeks to deepen its reach into the segment, increase its channel base, and achieve significant growth.

Midwich’s XPS general manager, Richard Wells, said: “All business, and particularly SMEs today, are looking for wats to automate workflow and improve productivity. We are confident that Xerox’s brand recognition and strength in managed print services solutions will enable us to fulfil that market need.”

Customers are increasingly seeking clarity on printing costs and the impact on productivity, added Xerox UK and Ireland’s managing director, Andrew Morrison.

“With the paper to digital conversation fast becoming the new normal for business owners,” he explained, “MPS is an important enabler for digital transformation, and a must-have for businesses.”
