NATO choses ARMOR’s OWA brand consumables

ARMOR’s OWA brand consumables are now being supplied to the NATO Joint Force Command headquarters in Brunssum, The Netherlands.

ARMOR’s OWA brand consumables are now being supplied to the NATO Joint Force Command headquarters in Brunssum, The Netherlands via the local Office Centre branch in Nuth.

In 2014 NATO adopted their Green Defence framework which looks at reducing the environmental footprint of military operations. The NATO headquarters in Brussels has an environmentally friendly footprint, using geothermal power for heat and rainwater collection for building maintenance.

According to Armor, the NATO Joint Force Command headquarters in Brunssum, Limburg, was “chosen as part of a sustainable business operation is a good example of the increasing social awareness that the ecological footprint needs to be reduced.”

In a speech on the 28 September 2020, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for the Alliance to take further action to address the threat of climate change. Speaking to students from 10 universities across the Alliance, he said: “NATO’s core task is to keep us all safe. Climate change is making the world more unsafe. So to fulfil our main responsibility, NATO must help to curb climate change.”

Frans Hondmann, General Manager at ARMOR B.V. said of the collaboration: “Congratulations Office Centre Nuth and Nato Joint Command on this important collaboration. Together you take an important step towards circular thinking and acting.”

The 39 Office Centre stores were sold by Staples to the relatively smaller KantoorExpert that specialises in office supplies and equipment with 4 stores. The acquisition made KantoorExpert / Office Centre a top player in The Netherlands office supplies and furniture market.
