Koji Miyao has been named the new President of the Ricoh Graphic Communications (RGC) Business Unit, Ricoh Company, Ltd.

Koji has enjoyed many pivotal roles during his 22 years with Ricoh, most recently as General Manager, Business Management Division, RGC. He succeeded Sergio Kato on 1 January 2023.

He joined Ricoh Company, Ltd. in 2000, where he was responsible for marketing high-speed colour laser printers for overseas markets. Six years later, he joined Ricoh Americas Corporation as Director of Business Development, where he headed up strategic investment for printer sales through IT distribution channels. Later, he assumed a Senior Manager role as Marketing Director, where he was responsible for new business development and commercialization of mobile, cloud printing, and medical printing devices.

After returning to Japan in 2014, as General Manager of the Office Printing Division, he oversaw Office Printing, maintenance, and supply business strategy.

In 2018 he was appointed Chairman and President of Ricoh China, after which the company enjoyed three consecutive years of its highest profits.

Koji commented, “It is a great honour to be appointed President of the Ricoh Graphic Communications Business Unit. I look forward to continuing our great work in developing services that contribute to the digital experience for commercial, industrial, and enterprise printing customers and brand owners. We are focused on further developing approaches to work practices to expand our customers’ business. Together these help us become a trusted business partner that grows with our customers.

“As part of my role, I will also align Ricoh’s global development, production, sales, and service functions for the success of our customers’ business. I put much importance on “Fulfillment through Work,” Ricoh’s vision for 2036. That means to help employees feel a sense of satisfaction, achievement, and self-realization gained through work. I aim to achieve this while expanding the reach of print and the scope of our business while positively contributing to solving social issues.”
