The company has released new compatible chips for use with HP CF500/510/530/540 cartridges.

Zhono announced the release as “First to market” compatible chips for use with HP LaserJet Pro M154nw and HP LaserJet Pro M254dw, printers manufactured prior to and including December 2018.

These new replacement chips were introduced due to a firmware update in the above mentioned machines which deemed the “toner cartridges as unrecognizable”.

The company explains: “Zhono continuously monitors printer upgrade dynamics, minimizing customer upgrade risks and costs.  Zhono research teams detected firmware upgrades that render compatible chips for use with CF500/510/530/540 toner cartridges as unrecognizable.  Effected HP LaserJet Pro M154nw and M254dw printers manufactured in December 2018 will display Fault/Error code ‘Supply memory error’. along with simultaneous K/C/M/Y flashing indicator lights.

“Further analysis revealed HP printers, in the series, have previously undergone two large firmware upgrades. Printers manufactured in December 2018 were released with the third major upgrade. Zhono trend analysis predicts two additional major upgrades within two years.”

Upgraded products are available for bulk shipment.
