The analytical information provider has named the prizewinners in the Colour & MFP stakes.
A raft of OEMs have been honoured by Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab (BLI), with the announcement of the winners of its Winter 2018 Pick awards for the Colour Printer and MFP categories.
BLI, an independent provider of analytical information and testing services to the document imaging industry, dispensed awards in various subcategories, with six different OEMs taking home prizes.
HP Inc. saw great success, with its Enterprise series winning three awards (Outstanding Departmental Colour MFP for the Flow MFP M682Z; Outstanding Departmental Colour Printer for the M653 series; Outstanding Colour MFP for Large Workgroups for the M681 series) and with a further prize for the Officejet Pro 7700 series in the Outstanding Tabloid Inkjet MFP for SMBs category. “HP’s color printers and MFPs consistently offer quality and value,” explained BLI’s Director of Printer & MFP Analysis, Marlene Orr, “and the Winter 2018 Pick winners are no exception to that rule.”
HP’s total of four awards was equalled only by Xerox, whose Versalink series took home the awards for Outstanding Colour Printer for Mid-Size Workgroups (C500 series); Outstanding Colour MFP for Mid-Size Workgroups (C505 series); Outstanding Colour Printer for Large Workgroups (C600 series); and Outstanding Tabloid Colour Printer for Mid-Size Workgroups (C7000 series). All four were praised for being “incredibly easy to use” by Tony Maceri, BLI’s Senior Test Technician.
Canon’s Colour Imageclass line also picked up two awards, being described as “impeccable choices for individual users and small workgroups” by Orr. Its MF630 series being crowned Outstanding Personal Colour MFP, and its MF730 series winning as Outstanding Colour MFP for Small Workgroups.
There was also recognition for the Brother MFC-L9570CDW, which was awarded first prize in the Outstand Colour MFP for SMBs category – “a compact and affordable choice for SMBs”, according to Orr – and the Ricoh SP C340DN/SP C342DN series – also sold under the Savin and Lanier brands – which was named Outstanding Colour Printer for Small Workgroups. Joe Ellerman, Manage of Lab Operations at BLI, highlighted the “flexibility, performance, and affordability” of the Ricoh models.
Finally, the Epson Workforce ET-16500 Ecotank All-in-One was presented with the award for Outstanding Achievement in Value. “Designed to minimize intervention and operating costs,” explained Orr whilst announcing the honour, the printer “offers the lowest-in-class operating cost and is an outstanding value for workgroups that need 11″ x 17″ business colour output.”
