Officeworks is helping make bigger things happen for the local community and continues to prioritise sustainability in NSW with the opening of its store at Eastern Creek in Sydney’s West.

The Eastern Creek store is the 168th Officeworks store in Australia and is the new greener home for the former Minchinbury store which has been relocated to the new site and opens with an increased range of products and new sustainability features.

Sustainability initiatives, including a rainwater harvesting site from tanks on the roof to supply irrigation to landscaping and reducing water usage, and solar panels installed on the roof will be active from opening day to enable Officeworks to help power the store by renewable energy.

The store will also use 100% LED lights which feature low wattage and reduce energy consumption, and a recycling unit will be available to customers to recycle their unwanted or broken tech items, batteries, printer cartridges, pens and more.

Officeworks Eastern Creek Store Business Manager, Paul Mackenzie said: “Our team is looking forward to connecting and building relationships with our local community and we are ready to help local western Sydney businesses start, run and grow as well as help make bigger things happen for local students, teachers, schools and the planet, with. The relocated store is the 51st in NSW, joining 12 stores servicing the growing Western Sydney region, and will create 18 new local jobs in addition to the team members transferring from Minchinbury. The new store has relocated to Eastern Creek Quarter, 2 Goldsboro Glade, Eastern Creek.
