Own a Samsung TV?

Samsung USA has tweeted about the potential threat to its TVs, advising its customers to check regularly for viruses.

The TV sets affected are said to be Samsung’s QLED TVs which connected to the internet and are at risk of having virus attacks. In the company’s tweet, Samsung USA shows its customers how to check for viruses with the inbuilt virus checker.

Samsung’s tweet also recommends its owners of QLED TVs do these virus checks on a regular basis.

Editor’s Note: TV sets are often used as screens in office environments for presentations in meeting rooms so if the TV is connected to the internet and has been infected, could the virus be infecting office networks? Is this a new threat for network security?

Make sure you stay safe and regularly check for viruses!
