Rewarding reports of fake goods, Pantum vows to ensure authenticity and consumer safety.

In an effort to combat the proliferation of counterfeit products, Pantum, a recognised brand in printing technology, has launched an aggressive campaign via its Facebook page, inviting the industry and general public to join the fight against unlawful production and sales of counterfeit goods. The company has announced a comprehensive reward system to encourage vigilance and reporting of such activities.

The campaign outlines various illegal and criminal activities targeted by this program, including the production, sale, storage, and transportation of counterfeit Pantum products, as well as the use of the company’s brand and factory information to mislead consumers.

To incentivise participation, Pantum is offering substantial financial rewards. Individuals and entities who provide valuable information that leads to the verification and subsequent cessation of counterfeit operations will be eligible for rewards. These rewards can range from $2,000 (€1,850) to $10,000 (€9,220), depending on the impact and value of the information provided.

Pantum aims to safeguard its own products and protect consumers from the potential risks associated with counterfeit goods. The company’s strategy involves broad participation, encouraging a societal approach to upholding the integrity of the market and ensuring the circulation of genuine products. With the promise of monetary compensation, Pantum hopes to mobilise the community and dismantle illegal networks distributing substandard products under its brand name.

In May 2023, The Recycler revealed that compatible Pantum toner cartridges sold in Romania contain high levels of decaBDE, a toxic flame retardant, exceeding the 3500 ppm limit. These levels surpass the EU’s RoHS directive limits, and the cartridges lack necessary RoHS or REACH certifications. This issue poses significant health and environmental risks. SKY GROUP, the exclusive Pantum dealer in Romania, confirmed these findings through independent laboratory testing and is raising awareness within the industry and the public.
