A survey done by Keypoint Intelligence in July showed that 45% of remote workers obtained a print device during the first lock down phases.
Keypoint Intelligence’s research “The Future Office Survey: Working from Home During COVID-19” looked at remote workers behaviour during the pandemic with a view into printing, scanning and more.
A blog post by Christine Dunne, Consultant for InfoTrends’ Office Technology & Services Group, explores the research conducted earlier this year, finding that “about 57% of new work from home individuals pay for their own ink or toner, either on an as-needed basis or as part of an auto-resupply plan.”
Dunne goes on to say: “When the company covers the cost, in some instances, the worker pays upfront or at least initiates an auto resupply plan. Another option is that the company pays the cost under a resupply plan.”
The survey also found that “about 71% of remote workers paying for supplies say they would print more for work if their employer covered this cost”.
The 85 questions explored remote working and print/document opportunities from a wide variety of angles, including Remote work printing purchases and behaviour, attitudes toward working from home, changes in personal (non-work printing) printing during lockdown, remote work scanning behaviours and other technology purchases and behaviour.
The new research showed that “the majority of respondents desire to keep working from home once the COVID-19 threat has passed (at least part of the time) (58%) and think their work will allow them to do so (80%).”
Future analyses will also be available to subscribers of Keypoint Intelligence’s office-related syndicated services as well as European versions of the survey and analysis.
