From 27-29 June 2018, Print-Rite organised the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC28 plenary and working group meetings and a forum on standardisation of SC28 in the field of information equipment.
The conference was held in Zhuhai, and was sponsored by the Standardisation Administration of the People’s Republic of China. It was organised by the China National Institute of Electronics Standardisation, the Zhuhai Print-Rite Unicorn Image Products Co., Ltd. and the Zhuhai Quality Supervision Bureau.
Over a hundred Chinese and foreign industry experts from China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Korea and the United States attended the event. These included the Deputy Director of SAC/TC28/SC28 and Group Leader of Consumable WG Mr. Zhang Xiping (Print-Rite) as well as the Secretary of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC28 Ms. Etsuko Sawada, and Print-Rite CEO Mr. Arnald Ho, among many others.
Print-Rite explained that, in order to adapt to the changing nature of market needs for office equipment and related technologies with increasing usage of 3D technology in the office environments, the committee released China’s first “3D Printing Standardisation White Paper” at the forum. This study is jointly written by China National Institute of Electronics Standardisation, South China University of Technology and Print-Rite Unicorn Image Products Co. Ltd. of Zhuhai etc.
The ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 28 Office Equipment organisation is a standardisation subcommittee of the Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1 of the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Print-Rite explained that the committee was established in 1989 to promote the image quality assessment for commercial printing and the print permanence and durability on printer and copier even 3D printing.
Print-Rite itself “is committed to invest in research and development to enable new innovative product design and build its own IP.” 
As of February 2018, Print-Rite has registered over 2,700 patents worldwide, related to printing consumables and 3D technologies by its subsidiary companies.
At present, Print-Rite says it is is expanding investment in 3D research and development and actively promoting the 3D Printing Innovation Hub to get more involved into the Made in China 2025 strategy. The hub is jointly established by Zhuhai Free Trade Zone Administration Committee and Print-Rite, which aims at encouraging and giving access to start-ups and companies accelerate the adoption of 3D printing technology into their businesses. The hub facility will be geared to the needs of local and international industries to provide such 3D services as innovation project incubation, professional training and technical consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises.
