Ricoh Company, Ltd. has been awarded a Gold rating in the sustainability survey conducted by EcoVadis.
This recognition places Ricoh amongst the top 5% of companies assessed in its industry in terms of sustainability performance.
Established in 2007, EcoVadis is the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings focused on corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, working to help companies improve their environmental and social practices through their global supply chains. It assesses more than 90,000 companies from over 160 countries across 200 business sectors on corporate policies, initiatives and achievements in four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Since its first Gold rating in 2014, Ricoh has consecutively been receiving the Gold rating in the survey.
Ricoh’s commitment, especially in the areas of “Environment” and “Sustainable Procurement”, was highly recognised in this survey, a testament to Ricoh’s proactive approach to addressing environmental management and sustainable procurement activities in collaboration with suppliers.
In 2019, Ricoh became the first Japanese company to participate in the Business for Inclusive Growth (B4IG) initiative to tackle inequality in workplaces and supply chains. It joined the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) in the same year, which promotes social responsibility in global supply chains.
In order to provide an effective global framework for its ESG activities, the Ricoh Group identified seven priority issues (also known as material issues), aligned to 12 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Group aims to resolve these issues through its business activities in order to realise a sustainable society that balances economic, social, and global environmental issues. Ricoh will contribute to achieving the SDGs by solving social issues in the entire value chain through business and realising a sustainable society.
