Ricoh has published its latest consolidated financial results, seeing increased sales of 4.5% year-on-year.

Ricoh explained in its financials that although the office printing and commercial printing businesses continued to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic that has been ongoing since the year before last, there was a recovery trend, mainly in non-hardware.

Consolidated sales for the fiscal year 2021 increased by 4.5% from the previous year, to ¥1,758.5 billion ($13.52 billion/ €12.82 billion). Gross profit increased by 8.8%, to ¥622.6 billion ($4.79 billion/ €4.54 billion).

In the office printing business, non-hardware sales rose everywhere except Japan. “This was despite a delay in recovery of sales of edge devices owing to product supply shortages. The office services business suffered from shortages of MFPs and IT products, which are components of services,” Ricoh said.

In Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Ricoh saw sales increased by 14.4% year-on-year and in Americas sales increased by 14.8% year-on-year.
