Ricoh UK is shortlisted for the best CSR/ESG initiative at the 2023 CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development) People Management Awards taking place on the 21 September 2023.

CIPD People Management Awards are the benchmark of excellence in HR (human resources), L&D (learning and development) and OD (organisational development), recognising outstanding work by both national and international organisations, regardless of sector or size.

Awards are given to teams excelling in professional principles set out by the CIPD and demonstrating that work matters, people matter, and professionalism matters across 24 different categories.

Ricoh was nominated for its successful integration of the social value challenge with the company’s L&D Emerge initiative. This year, over 80 Ricoh UK employees worked to deliver social value to their designed area of the UK. This included organising and delivering CV and interview workshops, gifts in kind and fundraising, as well as raising awareness of the global climate crisis through the development of a climate crisis workshop targeted at young people in primary schools.

Through these efforts, Ricoh delivered over £149,000 ($187,581/ €174,021) of social value to 12 UK counties in total, working with over 20 different delivery partners and impacting hundreds of people. Partners which Ricoh has worked with include Leeds Hospital Charity, The Forward Trust and Turning Tides.

Glenn Griggs, CEO of Ricoh UK, said: “People are at the core of our organisation, and we’re delighted to be shortlisted by CIPD for the Best ESG/CSR Initiative. Environmental, Social and Governance principles underpin all work that we do at Ricoh, from internal processes and operations to how we support our customers, partners and the communities in which we operate. This nomination exemplifies how cross-team collaboration can reap multiple benefits to the business and deliver social value at the same time.”

On 4 October, Ricoh UK’s Director of People & ESG Rebekah Wallis and Head of ESG James Knox will deliver a presentation at the CIPD Employee Experience Conference on how building an agile workforce can contribute to a better employee experience.
