The OEM’s American division will cut approximately 76 jobs in the New Year.
According to the Orlando Business Journal, the cuts will come as a result of the closure of its call centre in Melbourne, Florida.
The decision to close the office at Venture Lane Bays is attributed to “a consolidation of business functions,” and will see layoffs in various positions, including managers; senior associates; supervisors; business analysts; and specialists.
“Relocation to our Tucker, Georgia facility will be offered to some employees and all are eligible to apply for any open positions across the company,” said the OEM’s spokesperson John Greco.
The cuts will take place on the 29th of January or later, and will not affect any other locations. Each employee has been notified. In total, Ricoh USA has a workforce of around 800 employees across Florida.
Earlier this year, the OEM cut 150 jobs from its call centre in Houston, Texas, due to another “consolidation of business functions.”
