Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) will showcase its technology innovations at the 2019 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla.,
The event is being held 11-15 February 2019. During the event, Sharp will collaborate and exhibit with long-standing Sharp Partner Program member RF IDeas.
Together, Sharp and RF IDeas will present a complete solution that enables users to authenticate at any Sharp multifunction printer (MFP) by swiping their ID badges, which provides access to the print/scan/copy capability, the network resources and shared folders they are authorised to access. Sharp will also showcase how it can use its innovative products, services and technology features to help address the challenges of modern healthcare providers. Technologies that better enable HIPAA compliance will be shown, and leading-edge security, AI technology and high-resolution 4KUltra HD touch displays, will be demonstrated.
A preview of the Sharp MX-C304W Colour Desktop MFP will be on display during the event to demonstrate the latest in security and AI technology. Its leading-edge security features provide strong protection for customer data and personal information. Healthcare specific features include firmware attack prevention and a self-recovery capability, which can identify a malicious intrusion and restore the machine firmware to its original state. These are further enhanced when paired with the Secure Print Release feature available through Sharp and its Partner Program. In addition to robust security features, a new MFP Voice feature with Amazon Alexa, enables users to interact with the machine by using simple verbal commands.
“We’re excited to return to HIMSS for a sixth consecutive year alongside RF IDeas, our long-standing Sharp Partner Program Member,” said Shane Coffey, Vice President of Product Management, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “The annual conference provides a unique opportunity for Sharp to illustrate how our leading-edge technology can make a lasting impact on the healthcare community by meeting its needs both now and well into the future.”
