The E.G.G.Walkathon is a 50km hiking in 12 hours fundraising project for children’s welfare and was launched by Shanghai United Foundation in 2011. This project provides participators with a personal challenge and charity involvement.
This year, the teams set off on a 50-kilometer hiking challenge to support the cause of child protection, passing through various checkpoints and water replenishment stations along the way. As part of the charity contribution of the project, Speed Infotech and Chipjet Technology have contributed to the welfare of over 1.4 million children, child workers and caregivers.
Hubei Dinglong added: “The event also emphasised the concept of “50 kilometers of zero waste” and encouraged participants to bring their own water cups and carry garbage with them along the way.”
In addition, plastic bottles recovered from the runaway activities will be sorted out and donated to environmental protection projects.
The company added: “The challenge not only tested the participants’ endurance but also delivered love to children. As leading companies in the field of recycled products and chip products, Speed and Chipjet are committed to fulfilling their responsibility to society.”
