SPL named Samsung parts distributor

Service Parts Logistics (SPL), an African parts management and supply firm, has been appointed as an authorised distributor of spare parts for the Samsung printer range, recently acquired by HP, in the Middle East and Africa region.

SPL was HP’s original partner in their parts resale pilot programme, and to date has been consistently partnered with HP for 19 years. SPL has 29 years’ experience within the industry and a proven track record of consistently delivering the service levels that world leading brands require.

Service Parts Logistics was founded in 1989 and is still the market leader in service parts management in Africa. SPL is the largest parts solutions provider in Africa and supports many well-known brands such as HP, Lenovo, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Acer, and Kyocera, among others.

SPL’s position as a multi-vendor parts supplier has been “greatly enhanced by this appointment”, according to the company, as they are able to showcase their extensive parts management infrastructure and specialist skills in the parts supply for Samsung’s print out-of-warranty spares portfolio.

In addition, SPL explains that a number of benefits will arise from this new role, including:

* Products will often be delivered on shorter lead times and at better prices than the traditional distribution channels that will not only save money but also help clients meet even the most challenging ETAs, as SPL keeps extensive stock on the complete range of spares.

* Along with SPL’s specialist skills to ensure that there is always very high first pass parts availability, automated reverse logistics offering full visibility of the supply chain, there is also a dedicated part sales team available by phone or e-mail.

* Parts that may be End-of-Life or otherwise constrained can be sourced through SPL, who is able to hotline cases with HP, and source hard to find items.

SPL’s Chris Cox concluded: “We’re delighted to be working with HP on yet another exciting project. The Samsung (S-Print) range is a fantastic portfolio, and we are proud to be associated with them and we are confident that we can add a great deal of value to the business across the Africa region.”
