Static Control granted CTPAT certification

Static Control announced its certification for the ninth consecutive year in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) programme.

CTPAT is a voluntary programme that brings together private and public sector supply chain stakeholders to improve cargo and U.S. border security from criminal activities such as terrorism, human smuggling, and illegal contraband.

Businesses that participate in the CTPAT programme commit to implementing certain security measures throughout their international supply chain. These measures are designed to safeguard the supply chain from potential terrorist activities, smuggling, and other security risks. Some of the security measures include:

  1. Conducting risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
  2. Implementing physical security measures at facilities and warehouses.
  3. Securing cargo during transportation.
  4. Conducting background checks on employees and business partners.
  5. Maintaining records and documentation related to supply chain security.

“With this certification, our customers can be rest assured that our supply chain is secure and their cargo is not likely to be tampered with,” said Jeff Fouquette, Static Control’s Operations Administration Manager. “CTPAT certification demonstrates that we take supply chain security seriously and can feel confident knowing that the products they are purchasing have been handled and transported through secure channels.”

CTPAT-certified companies often benefit from expedited customs processing and reduced inspections, which can lead to faster delivery times for customers. Participating businesses are subject to validation by CBP, which may include on-site inspections to ensure compliance with CTPAT security criteria.
